It is a Grantor trust allowing you to maintain control of the assets for your lifetime.
Proceeds generated by the assets flow directly to your IRS Form 1040, no EIN number.
Because no EIN, there is no special tax filing requirements
The moment you put something into this trust it is protected from Creditors.
When an asset has been in this trust for 60 months it is not a countable asset for
Medicaid Qualification purposes.

Loss of liquidity. Once you put an asset into the trust it must stay in
a. Eventually it will come out through your named beneficiaries, but not you.
More costly to create
Assets must be re-titled into the trust to be protected
Not revocable, but does remain amendable by Grantors
